Navigation system

Our company has developed and implements the strapdown inertial navigation system (strapdown INS), which is aimed at collecting data about trunk pipeline axis geometry and solving problems of spatial references of pipeline anomalies.

INS measuring unit is mounted onboard inspection intelligent tools and includes angular rate sensors and accelerometers.

When geodetic coordinates of reference points, such as launcher and receiver traps, valves, active and passive markers are known, geodetic coordinates of the tool at every instant are determined based on IMU data and odometers (linear velocity sensors) readings, and subsequently, geodetic coordinates of defects, girth welds and other pipeline features are determined.
