Result of the year 2016

In the past year 2016, our Company has successfully fulfilled all the given tasks and this can be proved by positive feedback from our Customers.

1. In 2016, more than 250 oil and gas pipeline sections have been inspected, including more than 200 gas pipeline sections in Gazprom subsidiaries’ premises:

- Gazprom transgaz Yekaterinburg;

- Gazprom transgaz Kazan;

- Gazprom transgaz Moscow;

- Gazprom transgaz Nizhny Novgorod;

- Gazprom transgaz Saint Petersburg;

- Gazprom transgaz Saratov;

- Gazprom transgaz Tomsk;

- Gazprom transgaz Ufa;

- Gazprom transgaz Ukhta;

- Gazprom transgaz Tchaikovsky;

- Gazprom transgaz Yugorsk.

It should be noted that based on results of in-line inspection, more than 3500 potentially hazardous anomalies have been revealed, which required immediate examination and decision on repair. Revelation of such anomalies makes it possible to decrease the probability of pipeline accidents, prevent damage to environment and even save human lives.

2. New developments and designer solutions were required in 2016 for work completion on two Gazprom pipeline sections:

-  underwater line of 1220 mm in diameter under the Baidaratskaya Bay (Kara Sea bay) of the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas truck pipeline;

- underwater line of 1220 mm in diameter under the Nevelski strait of the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas pipeline.

Design of these pipeline sections makes inspection complicated – because of thick-walled pipes with internal flow coating. For work in these sections, new inspection sets of pigs were designed and created, specific features of which are:

- enforced magnetic system, which makes it possible to inspect thick-walled pipelines with wall thickness up to 32 mm;

- Traction and magnetizing elements if the pigs are designed so that any damage to internal flow coating is eliminated;

- onboard electronic system has protection from negative affect of electrostatic discharges which appear as a result of friction of the pigs on internal flow coating of the gas pipeline.

Special notice shall be made about the long distance of these sections from the Company’s production base (more than 8000 km) and absence of transport infrastructure in the work area.  Logistics schemes for delivery of equipment to these sections included lorry transport, railways, water transport and even aviation (helicopters).

Despite the complicatedness, the task to carry out inspection of underwater lines from thick-walled pipes with protective flow coating was completed in time and in full.

3. In 2016, the Company, within the framework of Program on modernization of existing equipment and production of new equipment, has produced new sets of inspection equipment of small diameters:

- 219 mm – 2 sets.

- 273 mm – 1 set.

These sets of pigs could not have been simply smaller copies of big diameter pigs, because their compact size did not make it possible to implement scientific and technical solutions, which were used for big diameter inspection equipment. A considerable amount of scientific research and designing work was done to develop new sets of pigs, to find new solutions.

All the new pigs are equipped with location transmitters, which makes it possible to control the movement of the pigs in the pipeline.

4. High level of management system of the Company made it possible to confirm compliance with the international ISO 9001:2008 standard.  (see certificate).

In order to optimize planning, distribution of resources, control and reporting about field work, dispatching system was introduced in the Company.

I future the Company will continue to increase efficiency of production and commercial activities by means if introducing new technologies as well.
