Based on results of in-line inspection, more than 4500 potentially hazardous anomalies have been revealed, which required immediate examination and decision on repair.

NPC VTD LLC continued to implement the Program on modernization of existing equipment and production of new equipment. One of the most technically complicated tasks in 2017 was the inspection of gas pipelines of small diameter, where pipeline sections of various diameters could be met throughout a section: 219 mm, 273 mm and 325 mm.  In the course of solving this task, new technology of inspecting “complex” pipelines of small diameter has been developed and mastered; requirements to the companies, which operate the pipeline in terms of preparing it for in-line inspection, have been enhanced; that enabled to increase the quality of diagnostics data and reduce the overall time of ILI works.

On August 10, 2017 NPC VTD LLC successfully completed in-line inspection of more than 900 km of the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta – 2 trunk gas pipeline, 1420 mm in base diameter, with wall thickness up to 33 mm and with a record product pressure for onshore pipelines – 120 atm. All the pipelines have internal flow coating. New set of equipment, that is able to inspect thick-walled pipelines with internal flow coating, was utilized for in-line inspection of this gas pipeline. The Company succeeded in carrying out the works within the projected time frame and effectively implemented the whole set of activities to inspect the pipeline.
